F.A.S.T. is a premier sports training facility designed to help you achieve your athletic/ fitness goals; whether that is excelling at the professional, college, middle or high school ranks. Or, if you are just a weekend warrior looking to get a little faster, stronger and smarter, we can help with that too. Our world-class performance specialists use the latest research-backed training methods and techniques that have proven to be successful in achieving athletes’ goals at all levels, and decreasing injuries by making sure the body is functionally moving properly. We accomplish this by making sure the body has the proper mobility before stability is gained. Prior to enrolling in one of our custom training programs, it is highly recommended that athletes go through one of our sport specific evaluations/ assessments to determine if you have any dysfunctions. The evaluations/ assessment will tell us what dysfunctions (mobility or stability) you may have, from the ground (ankles) to the head. This allows us to first work on building a strong foundation before moving on to more sport specific work. We will then measure your speed, strength and agility on day one, as well and at intervals throughout your training program. As you continue to follow your carefully developed regimen in our state-of-the-art facilities, you will be able to see your improvements through our continuous testing program.
Prior to developing a sport specific training program, we thoroughly evaluate the capabilities of our athletes with respect to their sport of choice to try and identify “energy leaks” that the body may have that causes injury or doesn’t allow the athlete to perform at his/ her best. Assessments will look at the foundation of an athlete and make sure we evaluate everything from the toes to the nose. Assessments will look at mobility and stability deficits through the functional movement screen, biomechanical assessment of the foot/ ankle, and walking and running gait. Lastly, we look at joint range of motion and neuromuscular firing patterns to check the efficiency of movement patterns. It’s from this assessment baseline that we evaluate more specific measurements based on what the athlete comes to F.A.S.T for, SAQ testing, Jump testing etc. Our review process for all sports includes: Mini Evaluation Full Evaluation ACL Screen Male or Female Overhead Athlete Screen (Baseball, Golf, swimming, tennis, etc.) Combine Testing for Strength and Speed Jump Testing Speed, Agility, Quickness Assessment Functional Movement Screen (FMS)

Dissecting a sport into its basic movements and making those movements better – whether stronger, more agile, faster, more stable, less fatigued, or more efficient is the concept behind our biomechanical assessments. Biomechanical analysis has become fundamental in any sport with complex movements. We evaluate joint angles, body positions, velocity, and energy transfer during a repeatable sport-specific (and often position-specific) movement. Biomechanical Motion Analysis will identify “power leaks” and their causes, with an eye toward improved performance and injury prevention. Among the sports we perform biomechanical analysis for are: Running (sprint, distance, hurdles) Jumping Tennis (serve, forward, backhand, & footwork) Volleyball 3-step approach and arm swing Soccer specific movements and actions Soccer goalie specific footwork and diving techniques Walking gait assessment Other sports upon request

Massage Cupping is a modern form of vacuum therapy. Massage Cupping is used to soften tight muscles and tone attachments, loosen adhesions and lift connective tissue, bring hydration and blood flow to body tissues, move deep inflammation to the skin surface for release, and drain excess fluids and toxins by opening lymphatic pathways. Cupping’s detoxifying effect on skin and circulatory system is also significant, with a visible improvement in skin color after three to five treatments. Cupping removes toxins and improves blood flow through the veins and arteries. Especially useful for athletes is cupping’s potential to relieve muscle spasms. Cupping is one of the best deep-tissue therapies available. It is thought to affect tissues up to four inches deep from the external skin. Toxins can be released, blockages can be cleared, and veins and arteries can be refreshed within these four inches of affected materials. Even hands, wrists, legs, and ankles can be ‘cupped,’ thus applying the healing to specific organs that correlate with these points. Relaxation: suction cups provide a negative pressure on the skin, muscles, and fascia. This is in contrast to the positive pressure of the deep tissue massage, and can be a very relaxing and soothing experience.

Also known as occlusion training, BFR training is essentially a strategy that involves the use of inflating cuffs or wraps to a specific pressure placed around the upper or lower limbs for rehabilitation or performance training. The aim of this is to safely restrict venous blood flow from a working muscle while allowing arterial blood flow. The client is then asked to perform resistance exercises at a low intensity of 20-30% of a 1 repetition max (1RM), with high repetitions per set (15-30) and short rest intervals between sets (30 seconds). This technique will allow us to have faster muscle gains with lower resistant loads for our rehab and performance clients.
Remember, our facility is not just for athletes! 35% of our clients are adults. No one person or adult is the same so why should adult fitness be any different. Our adult fitness at FAST is designed to help them move better and often and assistant them in the journey to feel and look healthier based on functional movements and nutrition. Our athletic trainers will customize each adult program based off our adult fitness assessment and the personal goals that they have no matter their fitness level. Our adult sessions will always first start with soft tissue and mobility work followed by our “prime & prep.” In this prime and prep phase, we will focus on improving joint range of motion and muscle activation. After this dynamic warm-up our adult clients will hit the floor and do multiplane full body movements in all different types of circuits. At the end of the 60 minute session our adults will always finish with a “FAST burnout” that can vary from sled pushes/pulls, plyometrics, riding bikes, or incline treadmill walks/runs. As always at the end of every session no matter athlete or adult, they will finish up with 10-20 minutes of muscle recovery in our whirlpools and Normatec systems.

Building and maintaining peak athletic performance is more than just training, practice, and “keeping in shape.” The diet of an athlete or someone who exercises regularly needs to be different from the food intake of someone who is inactive. Your body needs support in the form of what we call sports nutrition, hydration, and rest in order to keep performing and responding at top levels. Not all nutrition plans are the same. Every athlete is different and therefore needs a program geared specifically to their individual needs. The nutrition plan that you should follow will depend on your age, sex, activity level, and overall goal. A performance-based nutrition plan gives you the right nutrients to be energized, recover quicker, and optimize performance. A poor nutrition approach leaves you feeling sluggish, slows down recovery, and negatively affects your performance in competition. FAST has a highly trained sports dietitian on its team to help athletes excel and reach their full potential.

Sports Massage has become an integral part of the new athletic regimen from sports medicine clinics, to college & professional training rooms to Olympic training. Growing number of Athletic trainers believe that massage can provide an extra edge to the athletes who participate in high performance sports. Massage has become a necessary ingredient for a complete workout. More and more people are realizing that a complete workout routine includes not only the exercise itself, but also allows time for the body to recover along with caring for the wear-and-tear and minor injuries that naturally occur with strenuous movement. The physiological and psychological benefits of massage make it an ideal complement to a total functional training program. Anyone who routinely stretches their physical limits through movement such as running, cycling, hiking, swimming, dancing, tennis and other racquet sports, strength training and aerobics can benefit from a massage.
